Patriotic Margaritajuly 4th

To make this festive cocktail, follow these simple steps. (If you don’t have an ice maker, check out Uline’s SS1095 which produces up to 23 pounds of ice daily.  Surely this would be enough even for the most avid entertainers.)

  1. Puree thawed frozen strawberries.
  2. Blend 2 tablespoons each of the strawberry puree, dark rum, coconut milk, pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, and ½ cup crushed ice in a blender until smooth.
  3. Pour 2 to 4 tablespoons HPNOTIQ into a glass, and top with 2 to 4 tablespoons of the strawberry mixture.

Red, White and Blue Ice Pops

Makes six 4 oz. popsicles

Try making this recipe in Whirlpool®’s 30″ French Door Refrigerator with More Usable Capacity.  It provides plenty of room for party trays and at-home catering.

  • 1  3/4 cup blueberries
    1 cup strawberries, stems removed
    1 cup yogurt
    1/4 cup (or more) honey
  1. Rinse the blueberries and strawberries, then thoroughly puree each fruit separately.
  2. Stir 2 tablespoons (or more) honey into the blueberries and 1 tablespoon (or more) into the strawberries.  Spoon 1 cup of yogurt into a bowl, and add 1 tablespoon honey.
  3. To make the ice pops, spoon the blueberry mixture into the bottom of your molds, so that they’re one quarter filled.
  4. Freeze the pops for 30 minutes then add a small yogurt layer.
  5. Freeze for 30 minutes, add a strawberry layer.
  6. If using Dixie cups and popsicle sticks, insert them now, and pour the rest of the layers around the sticks.  If using store bought molds, insert the stick, and then remove it each time you add a layer.  It will freeze in place eventually.
  7. Freeze for the strawberry layer for 30 minutes then add a yogurt layer. Continue until the popsicle molds are full.
  8. Freeze for several hours or overnight.

Double-Check Those Appliances

There are those of us who plan holiday celebrations in advance, and then there are the rest of us, who try to come up with the perfect July 4th barbecue menu the day before. But nothing is worse when throwing together a last minute barbecue than a broken refrigerator, freezer or microwave. Before you start the preparations, make sure all of your appliances are in proper working order. Even though you may be grilling a majority of the meal, don’t forget about the desserts, sides and beer that need to stay refrigerated.

If you find yourself needing an appliance repair on July 4th, worry not.  We’ve got you covered.  Home-Tech offers our Service Agreement Members emergency service on national holidays.  So, instead, enjoy making one of these delicious recipes and getting the barbecue fueled. Let us worry about fixing the appliances. Call us at 800-800-8356 or schedule service online with our submission form.  Happy 4th of July!

Employee Ownership

“The key difference is quite simple. Employees own the business,” says the CEO, Steve Marino. “I think it’s the perfect model for a service business in Southwest Florida. What we offer employees is a piece of their business. When someone is vested, when they own a stake in something, they are more likely to stay. What does this mean to our customers? Our employees really care that every experience you have, every service that is done is TOP NOTCH.”
