President Harry S. Truman once said this about America’s brave veterans, “Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices.”

Celebrating Courage
This week, Home-Tech was happy and humbled to celebrate Veterans Day and as President Truman once said, a veteran’s service can never be repaid.
Still, we do our best as a community to honor and thank our veterans. Maybe you attended the Cape Coral Veteran’s Day Parade, where hundreds showed up to cheer vets – some over 100 years old – who served as far back as World War II. Further south in Bonita Springs, a large crowd gathered at Riverside Park to pay tribute to our armed forces.
On Marco Island, there was an aircraft flyover, featuring a vintage WWII aircraft piloted by members of the Civil Air Patrol Squadron. And in Patriots Park in Venice there was a ceremony honoring vets, while in Sarasota, folks enjoyed the annual Veterans Day Parade with the theme of “When Duty Calls”. While some of these events were somber and others more celebratory, the message was the same: Thank you, brave veterans, thank you.
Serving Southwest Florida Heroes
Since Southwest Florida is a paradise for retirees, we at Home-Tech often get the opportunity to meet many who have served our great country when we go to their homes for a service call. Whether we’re there to fix a refrigerator or to do an annual air-conditioner check-up, we notice the American flag on the porch, the framed medals on the wall, and the pictures of our customer as a young person in uniform. Our techs are honored to serve veterans and to be able to thank them, in person, for their sacrifices.
