Dear SantaDearest Santa Claus,

Now that we’re in sunny Southwest Florida, we have everything a Snowbird could ever want – there’s sunshine, beaches, biking, golf, and boating. While our friends who elected to stay in the frozen tundra of the north wait for the next polar vortex, we’re here in paradise watching palm trees sway. While they painstakingly scrape ice off their windshields, the only ice we ever see is floating in our margaritas. As they shovel snow, we’re shoveling shrimp and fresh grouper into our mouths. When they’re shuffling around in slush, we’re strolling barefoot through the sand. But, this is no time for gloating.

So Much Snowbird Stuff

Honestly, Santa, we have everything. We’re adults of a certain age. Keurig coffee maker, check (even though we’re not sure we like it); Juicer that we’ve used three times in one year, check; iPhones, iPads, iPods, all check (how many iThings can one couple have?). We have a houseful of gadgets, towels, and grill tools. The bathroom is filled with perfumes, lotions, and various potions. We’ve lost count of the number of Tervis Tumblers we own. In other words, Santa – we have plenty of stuff – more stuff than we need and will probably be donating the Keurig to a local charity, along with some Tervis Tumblers. What we really, truly need, is peace of mind.

Santa, when we come to Florida, the whole idea is to relax and enjoy. Frankly, we’ve worked hard for a lot of years to not to worry, and that includes stressing out over our appliances and air conditioning units.
